This tool for Sierra Chart has been directly inspired by the screenshots of rounder8 's work here:
The idea is to keep a record of the DOM on the chart.
Everything is explained on the picture below.
Additional information: what is plotted is …
gave me the idea for the version I have developed. I am enclosing the .dll and an example chart book as a contribution to this forum.
I think the result is extremely close to bookMap and with Sierra chart functionality it can be even more useful.
An example chart using the studies is also included. It use is self explanatory by looking at the enclosed chart.
Unfortunately SC does not save DOM data but it should be coming soon.
As always no warranty is given for its proper operation.
wow thanks for coding this AmirN. I use a black screen by default I was wondering how I load this up on a white screen as in your example without having to change the global graphic settings?
I solved the graphics issue myself I needed to go to Chart>grahpics and unselect global. Hope that helps someone else with the same question.
AmirN I still dont see the black lines on my chart I was wondering if that it because I dont have the Amir Orderbook along the top of the screen like you do here is my screen shot.
This would work on any market. You might have to change the LargVolume indicator values for your market if you choose to use those.
SC does not store DOM data yet, although I have been told it would be done within two weeks. So the data would only get updated whilst connecting to your data feed. If you close and restart SC or refresh your chart you would loose what is displayed on the screen.
Just a thought, since alot of people use black/ dark backgrounds, it might be a good idea to invert the colours. So large orders are white, small orders are black etc.
"Free markets work because they allow people to be lucky, thanks to aggressive trial and error, not by giving rewards or incentives for skill. The strategy is, then, to tinker as much as possible and try to collect as many Black Swan opportunities as you can"
