Most mentors unfortunately will just take your money. They will not help you.
My advice: determine which type of trading you want to do: for example, do you want to be a discretionary chart trader, do you want to be a news trader, do you want to have automated strategies, etc.
Then, knowing the type of trading you desire, look through this forum for people. It will take a while, but eventually you'll be able to separate the good from the bad.
Finally, contact the person you are watching. See where it goes.
Most people looking for a mentor do the opposite - they fall for a sales pitch, they don't even know whether their prospective mentor is legit or not (for example, most trading room "gurus" are actually paper trading con artists), and they follow whatever method their mentor is using, without regards to whether of not it fits their personal situation.
Tread slowly looking for a mentor. The water is full of sharks.

What type, what kind of trading are you doing? What type do you want to do?
As an analogy you just said this: I want to work with wood.
Ok does that mean you want to work in a forest? Plant trees? Work in a saw mill? Install wood floors? Finish wood cabinets? Build houses rough construction? Inside houses finishing work like trim work, crown molding and chair rail.
Finding a mentor means first having a crystal clear knowledge of yourself and how you want to trade. How you can trade or what you can/will grow into as a trader. It's a massive maturation process.
Read Jack Schwager's book ...the Market Wizard series and see all the different types of successful trader.
There's many hours of free trading content each day. For futures, see those with Pete Mulmat. He has three segments on per day, and in one he's effectively mentoring a young person who is positive for the year.
At least with this there's no cost to learn, you can watch people live here, get a sense of who they are, their style, and communicate with them if you want.

Tastytrade has changed so much from when I first joined about 4 years ago I often forget how good it has become. See, that was back when you had to "join"…lol. Back in the beginning it was $45/year…now it's free. At some point in between $45/yr and free it was something like $90/month.
They have added so many segments so many shows. Tom's TedTalk is worth a listen too.
