I was merely showing the OP what to watch out for when deciding what he needs IT-wise. I will confess, however, that where others buy faster CPUs, I just buy more RAM...
However, if you have that little RAM left over, you must have quite a few background processes running. If you wish, you can identify them by going to the "Processes" tab and sorting it for Memory Usage or whatever it is called in your version of Windows.
Then again, I don't know how RAM-intensive your trading platform / charts are therefore it could be that your trading is just much more RAM-intensive than mine.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Thanks for the input everyone.. I went with the Lenovo I7 with 16gb ram and SSD drive. NVidia graphics so I should be set. I do plan on only using this for trading as I have other PCs in the house.
I use Speedy trading servers for my trading set up with Ninja trader 7. I run Jigsaw tools and Rancho Dinero footprint charts on it. I use the "medium" server and it is only 1 Xeon Core,1.5 GB of RAM and 50 GB of disk space.
I only trade the 6E contract. I have never had an issue with it bogging down.
i have a desktop with 8Gb of RAM and AMD fx8350 cpu and AMD r9 390 video card for multiple screens but i u use 1 screen u can use a cheap videocard.
But i think that RAM memory is the key for smooth working ...
