I've recently started using market profile as my framework for trading. Before that I was using a hodge-podge of price action and indicator strategies.
The reason I underlined framework above is because this has made the biggest difference to my trading, before I was not able to identify any kind of structure or reason to markets, where as market profile and the associated concepts have given me confidence and a clear set of rules to follow and probabilities to base my trades off.
Obviously, as with any method of trading, results will vary and opinions will differ, but this is what worked for me.
I've read through some of the Dalton and Steidlmayer books, but have found them difficult to follow, despite the concepts being easy to grasp. What really helped me to learn this methodology was having a mentor, who learned through SMB when they still had a Futures Desk. The methods and style of teaching was a massive help.
If anyone is interested there are some good videos on the Apteros trading website which explain some of the approach to this methodology, I also think the teaching style (from the little I've seen) that Meritt Black takes is easy to follow - it's been referenced (search: Meritt Black), on this site already.
I'm potentially keen on joining the Apteros community as my current community's future is a bit up in the air now, but if anyone has any recommendations that would be appreciated!
