I don't think the missing option is a problem of your data. I just checked it for you using the ES future and a Renko chart and the only option MC offers for "Build Volume On:" is "Trade Volume". When I change to a regular chart type, I can decide between "Trade Volume" and "Tick Count", but on Renko charts "Trade Volume" is all I can select.
Thank you. I can use tick count as a proxy of volume to trade Forex. Now the problem is, my broker, Oanda's data feed has no Trade Volume, so when I use renko, all the volume is 0. If I can do something to make the trade volume=tick count, that's great. I think it's a hard task.
Unless things have changed very recently this won't be possible using Oanda data. The issue is Oanda doesn't supply historical tick data so Multicharts isn't able to use tick data to populate charts.
I use tick charts in my trading but I use Sierra Chart's FX data feed to populate the data on the charts and then execute through Oanda's platform. You may want to check with Multicharts to see if they offer alternative FX spot datafeed providers (or, as suggested by choke35, you could pay for the futures datafeed which would provide volume on the futures contracts).
