It seems all Intel processor are affected, not AMD's. You can download the attached file and unzip/run to see if your machine is impacted. If this are okay you should see something like this:

Hi @sam028 thanks for this, I realize it's just me missing something but...How does one run this and see the output like you posted? I downloaded, unzipped, ran but did not see anything besides a blink of an eye flash.

You have to open a PowerShell (or cmd.exe) then run it.

Thanks guys for posting this helpful information. It seems the good news is that the more recent Intel are affected less from a performance standpoint. I've seen several quotes similar to the following from PC World:

"More recent Intel processors from the Haswell (4th-gen) era onward have a technology called PCID (Process-Context Identifiers) enabled and are said to suffer less of a performance hit."

I'm running an Intel i7-6700k which is 6th Gen... so we'll see...

The downside is that we are in a business where micro seconds count.

Right now i am not using 100% of my CPU. Have a 6700 as well. So I don't care my CPU is up 25% before and 35% now. But if you use amazon AWS and pay per cycle, it matters money wise at least.

I will be upgrading my i7 in a month or two and will be moving back over to AMD they've shown their engineering in performance and price and I've always wanted a reason to support the little guy Intel loves to step on. Happilly my next three builds will all be Ryzen chips
