The thread is a bit different on your side when you use "Ask A Question".

In regular threads there is a reply button at the top and bottom that all can see the OP and any contributors.....

When using the app version and you get a notification, it opens a blank page for me. Every single time

Perhaps you could post a screen shot of your page so we can see what you are seeing or not seeing.
