I have been discussing Larry Williams with a friend lately. Years ago we read his book "How I Made a Million Dollars...last year...trading commodities" and recently we looked at his website. I subscribed to LarryTV for the heck of it. We are curious about the online courses he offers. We would be willing to spend $250 for the level one course but the $1700 for level two doesn't interest us. Does the introductory level one course offer anything more than his books do?
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Here is my take on these courses. No one can teach you to trade successfully. You have to do it yourself. Put the time in. In the beginning you dont wont even know what and where to put the time in. As time goes you will figure it out.
Larry is something of a miracle. At the same time he has something for everyone, he also is basically offering nothing for everybody.
I'm actually astonished Williams is still active. Guys like him and Jake Bernstein are relics from the 80's, before the internet and daytrading for the masses...
At least Ken Roberts had the decency to retire when the game was up.
I understand your pessimism but I fail to comprehend what you are trying to convey. I'm just asking if his introductory course is a repeat of his books. Have you taken the course?
20 years ago I was introduced to the futures markets by a mailer from Ken Roberts. Yes I bought the course. It was more of a motivational course than a trading course though. It led me to pursue all sorts of avenues of market analysis. During that time I read Larry's book and while I don't believe that he can teach me to be a flawless trader, I do believe that he can bring factors to my attention that I had never considered. That's all I'm looking for and that's why I'm not interested in the "advanced" courses for thousands of dollars.
Is there anyone here that has taken the level one course and also read his books?
Thanks for making it clear on what you are looking for. No, I have not taken his course. I am certainly pessimistic on what he can teach to make me a better trader.
Also, be advised of this guy's background, of course take all this with a grain of salt.
Let my clarify: I am unaware what is in Larry's specific books you are considering purchasing. I personally won't waste my time or money on them. Just my opinion. What you do with yours is your business.
I stand corrected: Ken Roberts didn't actually "retire". Roberts merely abandoned hawking his commodities courses under pressure from the FTC. I'm sure the Ken Roberts motivational courses are really a good use of time and money...
on the subject of ole LW, I'm looking for easylanguage code for his indicators. When I have searched the forum the promising threads lead me to an error page. Anyone know where I can find code for ProGo, Willtrend, his COT indicators, etc?
