This is a very slow process. I am running over 20 charts with Bot. NT8 has many issues with their platform and trying to resolve issues with them is extremely time consuming and challenging. So please be patient and hopefully we can have a Bot for all to use for FREE.

Has anyone run this type of strategy...their version on the ES lower time frame...16/2, 12/2 or 10/2. If you have please post charts. It appears the Es is a slow mover. Thx

I have been using Strategy Analyzer and Kinetick for testing the strategy on NT8.

Very good
I am interested to see some of the performance results for the more liquid hours of various instruments
Sorry I currently don't have enough time to do similar just now

I like your approach and will toss in my 2 cents. I've spent a ton of time testing, tweaking and more testing. Most often I'd take a single idea and test it six ways to Sunday just to see if I could arrive at a conclusion on that one idea. Then I'd test another idea and another and keep repeating on and on until a number of general concepts were proven by the numbers.

Multiple Contracts
The Risk Reward Ratio improves with multiple contracts. Taking one contract off at an easily attained goal (say 8 ticks) locks in some profits while at the same time letting your winning trade run with the second contract. Over the long run using this approach was the most important idea over all others.

Time Frame
Testing different time segments was more or less hit and miss. For a stretch of time the best results would come from trading around the time the Asian markets open, the middle of the night for me. But that wouldn't last and another time frame would produce better results. It was almost like fads that come and go and never stop changing. The only general takeaway I discovered was to stay away from U.S. market open (8:30 CST). That generally seems to be the most volatile period.

Instruments
If a 2/20 Renko setup works best for you with the NQ you'll probably find a setting such as 2/10 works better for the RTY. One size does not fit all. You can dial in the settings that work best for each instrument.

Trend
What constitutes a Trend? It's a darned good question and I don't have the answer. I know when a market is not trending and just sitting there like a whole bunch of nothing. I also know when it's super trending like a runaway train that can't be stopped. But what about the in between? Most of the time markets are in between and we have to set our own thresholds to determine what constitutes a trend. It's a tough call.

Traffic Light
What I'm working on now, with only mediocre success, is a method of determining when not to trade. A Red Light market is dead, don't trade. That one is pretty easy to spot. A Yellow Light is an OK market but not great. A Green Light is a runaway train, also easy to spot.

Writing an Auto Bot to take the temperature of any market is tricky and gets into complex code. I have to discard anything that is not simple because it is destined to fail sooner or later. For the traffic light determination I have to rely upon my own personal judgement, especially since most days are Yellow Light. So I end up with something like this.

Day 1 is a dog, don't trade. Day 2 is OK but nothing special, so I'll take a few NQ trades using two contracts each trade. Take one off at an easy target and let the second contract run.

But on Day 3 we have a runaway train and I push more chips in. I might trade 5 contracts on the NQ, taking 3 off at an easy target and letting 2 keep running. Then at the same time I'll also push in chips on the ES, RTY and maybe even a few other markets as well.

The poker reference is intended.

I have continued to use the 20-2 for the NQ and it seems to provide very good moves, I do not trade the ES live but in doing some testing I have been using a 8-2 and that has produced some good results as well.

I only trade with the trend. For me I try to keep it simple I use a chart 9,34, 89 and 200 EMA's on a 600 Tick chart. From this I make a determination of trend direction and strength, it is not perfect but keeps me out of the weeds.

I didn't watch the markets/charts much because NT strategy has a lot of bugs and issues I am trying to resolve. Nt is telling me to check spool and print in my code but I don't have a clue how to do check it. I will post when I can.
