Just for info, SC on Ubuntu ran fine, no lag or other issues. I was comparing my laptop with Ubuntu and Sierra Chart to my desktop with Ninja Trader on Windows. I traded off of the laptop.

Here is a screen shot of the laptop showing how I have SC setup....

My focus is on:
1. Avoid the opening chop.
2. Honor stops
3. Ensure reward > risk on all trades

We want to let you know that we have released a non-.NET (in other words we do not link with the Microsoft Common Language Runtime) version of Sierra Chart that will be better for users using Sierra Chart on Linux operating systems.

You can find the link to it on our Support Board.

Also, papa15, the issue that you and others have expressed with the ICE futures not working properly when using Rithmic has been resolved. It was a small issue with the two spaces in the symbol. The character codes were not correct.

That's great news, glad to see some support for the Linux community.

Thank you so much for both improvements. It is good to see support for non-Microsoft customers.

One question....will the non-.NET work with the MAC OS?

We do not have personal experience working with the Mac OS, so we cannot give a definitive answer. Maybe one of our users can provide some feedback on this.

My bad Lolu. I should have said it runs really well under Ubuntu. I don't have a MAC to test it on. If a MAC user would load WINE, they could test it; I suspect it will run great....if so, then a MAC would be my next desktop

I successfully installed and ran SC/IQFeed (the .NET version) on Linux in a VMWareFusion environment on my Mac, see my earlier post here. The installation of the .NET version on my Mac OS X/Darwine environment has also been successful, but running it has not been successful. I seem to be having problem with MSVCR90.dll (which is declared missing) needed by SC TAPriceEngineAPI.dll. I'll still re-visit it when I have enough time to attend to it again. Meanwhile, I attempted to install the new SC non .NET version on my Mac OS X/Darwine, but the installation has not been successful.

I do not own a MAC but I did google how to install WINE on a MAC. I guess it is harder to do than to install WINE on Ubuntu. If you can get WINE installed using the terminal, I think the SC part should go fairly easy. But take all that with a grain of salt since I am really ignorant of the workings of a MAC.
