I have great news for you! Ehler's decided to extend his retirement date and will host another workshop this October 2021. He's apparently been busy doing a ton of research and has produced new strategies and studies he claims are robust. You can download the syllabus here: https://mesasoftware.com/
I'm actually looking forward to attending again! Yes, many of his indicators are publicly available. However, there's a big difference between the public content and what you get at the workshop. Most of the public content is outdated. The studies/strategies you get at the workshop are vastly superior in functionally. Hope this helps!
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I am not sure yet about attending. USD 4K is a lot and most of the code is already available in the following book: Cycle Analytics for Traders: Advanced Technical Trading Concepts, + Downloadable Software.
I have also contacted John and got the following response: ‘ You have the ability to record the workshop on your own computer. I will not be making videos available’.
$4k is a steep price to be certain, but having studied a lot of Ehler's works and have questions. There are few things that are making me consider it.
1) I understand his indicators and tools, but do not really know how to use them, particularly in an automated system. I have built a lot of systems with his ideas, but only had one system that passed.
2) He has an optimizer that runs magnitudes faster than TradeStation's, for which I would like to get the code and he is providing
3) I want to see the systems he has developed and how it various cycle tools are integrated
In the case of @kevinkdog 's course, I easily made that money back in commission rebates, profit, and avoided losses. In Ehler's case, the value has to far exceed the cost (> 2R, if you will). What I am hoping for is an 'aha!' moment when taking the class, when everything makes sense. I will let you know if I decide to pull the trigger and do it.
