Where do you get your financial news & investment ideas?
I actually think this is a great question, but the problem becomes semantics. What is the definition of blowing an account up? I've never closed an account due to losses or only been able to maintain an account because I added more capital. I have …
I chose "something else," because I ignore news except to use a financial calendar website to tell me about upcoming reports that I may want to stay out of the market for, until they hit the market and things settle down, such as FOMC announcements.
Also, I don't look to find investment ideas from anywhere except my charts. I know there are good sources of ideas out there, as well as good sources of perspective on news, but I simply can't sift through them and figure out what to do, so I don't try. I'm limited that way.
BTW, @Big Mike, I didn't see a button on the poll to go to this thread.
Good poll. It'll be interesting to see the responses.

Another interesting poll. I chose magazine, though I really have two answers. For a quick and dirty view of financial news, I just hit up Yahoo! Finance. I don't trade the news, so it is only when I see something interesting, like Crude falling $2 today, just to see what happened. As an algo trader, the news is irrelevant.
For ideas I use Technical Analysis of Stocks & Commodities (TASC) magazine quite a bit, then dig into my various books for inspiration.
Thanks for sharing, I like your perspective @bobwest. What site do you use for the financial calendar? I've been thinking of building one myself, but why re-invent the wheel?
Financial news and investment ideas: I chose something else.
I lean on Wall Street Journal (online subscription) for what is in focus. Various professional YT channels for investment/options ideas. CT News for news feed along with Benzinga Pro.
