Watch out for AAPL margin compression as Samsung gives AAPL the boot as a supplier.

I think that was the other way around, Apple gave Samsung the boot.

Evenso, where is AAPL going to get the quantity and quality of displays at the price they could get from Samsung. Smaller producers know they can price gouge since AAPL is trying to fill such a large supply gap. Why try to get a substantial portion of the business and have AAPL risk, when you can supply a smaller quantity of additional displays at rip off prices? And if you are lucky, they still order a ton at those prices because they ran out of options.

Pissing contest. I think both Apple and Samsung will do whatever it takes to "make the other pay". Even if it means they pay, themselves. As long as the other party pays too, it's worth it

And now, for fun:

Watch out for AAPL margin compression

Looks like compression to me...

Revenue is right in line, but EPS is worse than expected.

(Expectations via Gene Munster at Piper Jaffray.):

Revenue: $36 billion versus $36 billion expected.

EPS: $8.67 versus $8.81 expected.

iPhone: 26.9 million versus 25.3 million expected.

iPad: 14 million versus 15 million expected.

Mac: 4.9 million versus 5 million expected.

iPod: 5.3 million versus 5.5 million expected.

Gross Margin: 40% versus 40.5%

December quarter revenue: $54.9 billion expected.

December quarter EPS: $11.75 versus $15.45 expected.

Is that it? It almost touched the 200MA and buyers rushed into the long side.

AAPL came back down to the 200MA and bounced. Today AAPL just pierced the 200MA with style.

And Mildren Pierce got on the phone to her broker to sell her shares.

Been a fun week Trading AAPL. Today saw the loss of the Daily 200 MA...which is something that hasn't since November of 2011.

I'm watching that 570 level closely as it is roughly the next downside volume shelf. it if cuts through that level to the downside, the next level is 555-ish, the weekly 50 period MA and then a long-term support/resistance level at around 550.

That said...it is getting oversold. Could we see a bounce next week?
