I actually have 10 monitors.. (but who's counting, :-)
But the way I trade, and the markets I trade, I don't have charts on all my monitors
my mac is what I have my order entry software for, so that is only for putting orders in, managing orders, etc.
I also use that to look at news, etc. forum posting, (when I am NOT trading) and general stuff, email, skype, etc.
I like to keep that separate away from my charts.
The other 8 screens are for my charts, on another computer, I run my quote windows, my strength/weakness meter, to help me decide what markets I am going to trade for that session.
I keep 1 market per monitor, but display 2 charts. The indicators I developed, and use will alert me when a potential trade signal is occurring, so I can quickly look at the chart, and quantify if it meets the min criteria as specified in my trading plan, if it does, and within my money management parameters, I enter in the market, and then follow my trading plan for trade management, and then go onto looking for the next setup.
I used to do this on 2 monitors but then quickly outgrew this setup. So more monitors is nice, so I can have all the charts up and markets that I trade up, at the same time. The type of personality I have, I have to keep my mind going and always looking at charts, keep my mind busy, so I don't get distracted with other things. this is what works for me, but of course, 1 computer screen works also, its just what works for you.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
And I thought I had a lot of monitors, I recently helped a good friend and trader out with his computers, and he has 16 displays, he trades currencies, stocks, futures. He has a very nice setup, and watching him trade, he is like a machine, he has multiple order entry platforms, multiple positions at the same time, he tires me out, but he has been trading longer that I have been alive...
Couple of web sites to check out on your monitor information quest and purchase.
Both are good suppliers , may depend on your location ,and / or preference.

Order and delivery:
- Order was shipped the next day +
- Delivery to Europe in 10 day`s + for USPS and the customs here (thats fast) +
Installation:
- Installation was super easy, decent materials used. +
- Only tool that wasn't delivered was the screwdriver, but everything else was in the package so no drives to the nearest tool-shop. +
Adjustment options:
- All the screens are adjustable in every way you would expect. +
- As you can see on the picture i like to sit in a sort of cockpit of screens, the - is that the 2 screens in the middle can't be pushed to the back more.
I like the stand, modded the midscreens a bit that brought the screens about 2cm more to the back, for the price that this thing goes for i give it an decent 8
