I've just built a new PC and am currently using the old video cards from my old PC. I run 4 monitors now and would maybe add one or two more in the future. If I don't just change to 4 28in. I don't do any gamming so I am wondering if anyone can recomend any video cards. My motherboard can support 3 cards, but as of now I only need 2. All the research I have done on cards is geared for gamming. The cards I run now are 2 different models and would like my new setup to be the same cards without spending a lot of money on 2 cards. If anyone knows of one card that can support 4 monitors that would be ideal.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?

been looking on ebay and 90% are the ones with dual dvi. The ones I see on ebay with the 6 mini display ports are over 500.00 I think this is the card I will go with the reviews are good on it.
If your motherboard has three PCIe slots then just get three cheap cards, you can find nice cheap dual head dvi cards for $50. $50x3=$150. Anything more than that is really a waste for a trading machine. If you are concerned about noise, you can look for fanless cards but most every card would allow you to use the control panel to underclock it and lower the fan rpm to make it near silent anyway.
I have a 5870 and have had quite a few problems with it. I would go for an nvidia card, they are more reliable and have better 2d performance (better for charting, video etc).
If you have three slots, you can put in three high resolution 2D cards. I would pay attention that
- 30" monitors are supported with a resolution 2560 x 1600 (large monitors are getting cheaper)
- you can both connect monitors via DVI and display port
- the cards have passive cooling for low noise levels
I would recommend nVidia NVS 295 for about US-$ 110,- , which has all of the above. It is the standard used for trading PCs by HP, Dell or Lenovo.
Note that this is not a gaming card, so it not suited for running 3D software, but it is absolutely perfect for trading applications and supports high resolutions for large monitors.
I use two older NVS 285 cards (precursor) in my trading PC and never had any issues.
