Comfort, Quality and Performance are more important to me than design, style and environmental. And in each of those, the Embody received higher marks overall.
I also found that this site (Smart Furniture) has a 1-year return policy. If you return within 30 days, they even pay return freight. So worst case I could try them both if the one I pick originally is not up to par.
I wanted to come back to my post. I was on my phone and busy and couldn't elaborate.
What I meant to write in more detail was that telling someone that any decent chair will work if they do some exercise and stretching is kind of like a slap in the face, to me anyway. I have chronic back pain and a slipped disc, and exercise and stretching are a prerequisite. They are not solutions to the problem.
My current chair exacerbates my pain so that was my clue I need to change it. My current chair is definitely a "decent chair", I would say it is in fact towards a high quality chair. But it is simply not ergonomic enough for my situation, which is why I was looking at specialized alternatives.
On Smart Furniture's website they have an option to "submit an offer". Which I did. And they accepted. So, I have just purchased the Embody chair and what I felt like was an excellent price and is a risk-free trade
Apologies if I have missed it here, and hopefully not off-topic, but one good solution - even if you have a good chair already - is to spend some time standing up while trading. There are desks designed for this with hydraulic/electric lifts. And some folks even walk on a low speed treadmill while trading.
I have a DIY shelf that I put on my desk for my keyboard and mouse while I stand awhile. My chair is a good Ikea heavy duty one but still gives me back pain if I don't sit up straight!
@Big Mike Looks like a very nice chair. We have the luxury of having thehumansolution.com offices in Austin. They have a showroom so I went and tried most of the higher end ergo chairs and settled on the Leap. That being said I think it is a very personal choice and will be different for each person. Once go high end they all are built well. Hope that chair helps your back issues. It is miserable to have sitting problems and have to sit all day. When I had my neck and back issues I dreaded having to sit felt like it was slowly killing me. The key will be getting all your adjustments correct. Nice thing about these chairs is you can tune it in just right. Don't be surprised if takes a few months to get it just like you want it.
"The day I became a winning trader was the day it became boring. Daily losses no longer bother me and daily wins no longer excited me. Took years of pain and busting a few accounts before finally got my mind right. I survived the darkness within and now just chillax and let my black box do the work."
I woul hope see this post earlier. I had the same problem with my back and bought this.
I saw you need a feedback and I tell you, this kind of chaits are the best por your back. You are sit down in a perfect straight way. I've been using it for almost 5 months and the only small problem is your knees support all your weight, so you and need a relax every 2 or 3 hours and its good to have a normal chair to change some times if you need writing down for long time.
Like they are saying, its not good for your body to stay in the same position all day and you need to relax and change your way to sit down.
Ah, the price: 200€ . Its so cheap comparing with this ergonomic expensive chairs.
