I was told by a Velocity rep that you can connect to MC using the TT FIX adapter with no additional equipment fees .
He had no specific details other than to start with MC support.
There is no backfill on TT on MultiCharts. Best to use something like IQfeed in this case. This is a TT missing feature as they just don't provide backfill. Platforms like Sierra and Ninja have their own historical servers for some customers and that is why you see backfill there.
Thanks for the replies everyone--I will continue to use NT for my needs then, as it will save me $80 a month in data from IQFeed and $40 difference between NT and multicharts. My only cost will then be the $60 per month fee for NT.
Good deal. If you are looking for another charting option, Sierra Chart would be the way to go. Free backfill with TT and also the least expensive of the three by a good margin, including totally free for Velocity customers. You can also get it free from Optimus Futures.
I acquired MC during their 2 for 1 promotion, I have been testing strategies with VCAP via TTFIX adapter.. so that it is clear MC will work RT with any TTFIX provider.. so anyone that gives your TTIFX Adapter will work with MC, including their new MC7...
as Mike stated, TT is a RT feed, so there is no backfill... but then again, so is ZF/Rithmic and CQG (unless you get historical added) ... so best to always use another alternative for backfill, or just setup QM to capture the data and have it running 24x7...
