hahahaha .. Fat Tails, I'm new here. Joined just now. It is quit interesting to note that your favorite instrument is "KEY BOARD" .. would love to take keyboard classes from you .. lol
Sorry friends .. I know I'm little out of way. But, a breather helps some times.
I have spent some time at a conservatory, and I still use the acquired skills to accompany my children and their friends or to make useless posts a Big Mike's at twice the normal speed.
So indeed, the keyboard is my favorite instrument.
The faster you enter your trades, the more likely you will fall prey to overtrading. Overtrading usually means the accumulation of many small losses that make up for a big loss. Never happened to you?
Fat Tails, you still haven't got the point. When they asked about your fav. instrument, it is NOT some cooking or gardening instruments. It must have been asked to know your favorite "financial instrument" ..
I think so. Or .. anyone differs? .. Anyway, "bfn"
OOPPSS!!!! .. got caught on the wrong foot!! .. when u said 'key board', i thought of the musical instrument .. newhich ways .. nice to get some fresh air .. out of all this finance, markets .. etc .. thx for helping me .. lol
I think we should come back to the topic. The Trader Survey shows that fear is not the dominant reason for failure, so I do not think that it is the greatest weakness.
The key statement of the survey shows that profits increase over time, only if post trade analysis is done. This is an essential ingredient in learning, you need to organize the feedback process to improve your skills. No feedback leads to no improvement.
So looks like the most tedious of all tasks, the reporting of our doings is the key to success. That said, it is well known that companies that do not use appropriate controlling tools are usually punished by history, as they disappear.
Not only psychology, also book-keeping - this includes book-keeping of emotions and behavioral patterns - is required.
Fat Tails can you give an example of book keeping of emotions and behavioral patterns?
