I'm planing to run two instances of sierra chart for two different accounts because from I have gathered you can't connect to two different trading accounts with sierra chart. So I would like to know if there is a study that you can run in one instance that would copy all orders and send them to the other instance of sierra chart running a study that could receive the orders from the first instance. Another words a trade copier for sierra chart!
Regards,
Ed
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Have you asked on the Sierra Chart support forum board?
This whole thing about running multiple instances of SC is pretty new and there are several threads at SC discussing it, a couple that may even be touching on what you are asking.
All of these ways that Sierra Chart says it's possible are very limited solutions and it has no real value whatsoever, the whole point is to be able to manage different accounts at the same time, in my case it's a couple of family members that would like to open a small account for me to control, so I would have to be able to control the number of contracts to trade at each of these accounts, if I'm trading 5 contracts on my account I can't be trading this amount of contracts on their accounts unless I intend in blowing their accounts and that's where a trade copier would come into play it would have to let me choose the amount of contracts to trade on the receiver side. I know only one platform that has that but I don't like it and it can't be used for futures.
I don't see how it's possible because all you doing is telling your broker to put all the accounts under the same username and you are using only one copy of sierra chart under that username to send orders to those accounts under the same username. Whatever sierra chart sends to those accounts under that username is whatever gets filled, I don't see any settings in sierra to let you do any other way!
sierra charts needs to advance/up to date in a couple of areas.
1) being able to optimize variables in spreadsheets and strats.
2) create/add trade copier ability like MT4
Infinity Futures, and perhaps other brokers let you setup block accounts, which consists of a master account and sub accounts, where you allocate the number of contracts that go to each. For example, you may trade 3 contracts in your personal account, and 1 in the sub account. All your trades would have to be entered as multiples of 4 contracts to cover all the accounts. Average fills are used so each account is treated fairly. They have a video explaining it here.
For some time I have been looking for the option to copy sierrachart orders to another sierrachart account and I found your forum topic where exactly did you ask? My question is whether you have succeeded and you found this solution? Did you buy something from someone like this? I would like to talk to someone who will be able to do something like this can you tell something in the subject? I will be very grateful for any tips.
I think what your looking for is like a group friends and family account with IB broker - then when you trade your account they get the same trade as well
