Hi All.
I trade the ES-Mini (SIM) during UK hours the market opens here around 0230pm (0830 CME) therefore from 0900 (0300 CME) till market opens I dont have much to trade - can anyone else recommend any other instrument to trade before the ES-Mini market opens?
I dont want to trade Forex.
also keep in mind t bonds and t notes open at 7:20 chicago time, that's 1 hour and 10 minutes earlier than ES open. should give you enough time and comparable liquidity to make your day.
Do these market have contract sizes like the ES = $500 per contract -ideally I am only trading 2 contract sizes at a max with an account of $10,000 so it needs to reflect this- is anhyone able to give me the instrument details or provide a link where I can get more info
I had a quick look at the 6E which I think is 10,000 per contract
I would suggest staying in the stock index sector as opposed to branching out to FX or Fixed Income - the stock index sector has its own unique characteristics. Try the EuroStoxx 50 or the DAX (but check contract sizes first).
I'm not saying you shouldn't trade FX or fixed income; just know that they have different behavior patterns when compared to stock indexes.
An account size of $ 10,000 is rather small for trading futures. More volatile contracts such as Brent Crude, WTI and the FDAX should be avoided. Also I do not recommend FESX because of the significant bid/ask spread.
Now if you look for contracts to trade in the European morning, I would suggest to look for European index or interest rate futures. The best choice that comes to my mind is FGBL
Liquidity is certainly sufficient to trade 2 contracts during the European morning. The 6B has the lowest risk profile and would probably best suit your account.
I have never traded British index futures, but you should have a look at those as well.
