Hi all, I am having trouble figuring out the best way to set up sierra charts with a real time data feed for futures.
I want to use it for footprint charts and I hear it's important that your data feed is accurate for that because otherwise the footprint data will be misleading.
I only want to use sierra for charts, I don't want to route orders through it. I want to use tradovate as my broker, and place orders through jigsaw.
I have emailed support people from sierra and tradovate and I'm still lost. The situation gets pretty convoluted when trying to use my tradovate data feed with sierra, and requires me to purchase TWO data feeds (from tradovate) for each exchange I need, and also an account with CQG. However, Sierra mentions that they have issues with CQG so that probably isn't a good option when I need quality data.
So probably what I'll have to do is purchase a separate set of data (for the sole purpose to use with sierra) from some vendor of real-time futures data that sierra supports: {link to supported vendors removed, won't let me post it}
Which one though?
Much appreciated if someone who understands this can help.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I would suggest you use Sierra's own data feed to run Sierra's charts, and use your Tradovate data for Jigsaw. As long as you don't need to see orders and positions in Sierra, this seems like a good solution.
While CQG has issues, most data feeds do, and many people use it with Sierra just fine. In fact, it's my only option to trade the products I trade.
