Earlier i used to think, volume is the key for successful trading. but later experiments revealed, its not so much useful as it is generally considered. .
I have an inclination for position / swing trading, (I think) any one turns to day trader in order to maximize the profit.. however it depends on the logic, which has been developed for the trade.
Volume should be used with caution,, some experience made me think that creating volume (patterns) is not a problem for big boys to attract the buyers,
there are certain other parameters for assessing the quality of trade before we enter it....
That seems to fit in the discussed thought that HFT firms are good at creating a bunch of "pseudo-volume" , iceberg orders etc. which vastly increases the rate and volume of limit orders at a specific period of time but hardly reflective of normal volume of interested participants but rather the few HFT participants active at the moment.
Certain high frequency components may leave their foot prints. (Recent Silver Chart..) now I am trying to figure out and build my own pattern data dictionary.
(but due to limited time at hand after the job,, its becoming impossible task for me.... )
With excuse to my ignorance, the above two statements are little contradicting.
Sir, If volumes are not useful for trading then what is the need of using it, as is told to use it with caution.
