Hello Trader,

This is the first journal I have ever started on this forum.

I am excited to embark on a little trading adventure with you and share the ups and downs along the way.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME:

I am reserved so making my trading public in any capacity is a change, and at least at first.. uncomfortable.
I have been trading off and on for the last 10 years.
I currently trade live accounts in both futures and forex (personal accounts)
I traded equities for a prop shop during the 08/09 crash.
I have traded dozens of TST combines as well as a live account for them.
I have blown up accounts.
I own two other businesses so I can not trade every day.
I own bloodhound.
I am not a market wizard.

A LITTLE ABOUT MY TRADING:

I currently trade (and have for sometime) an Intra-day scalping strategy that focuses on scaling out of an odd number of contracts, taking a 2/3rds majority off at T1 with a runner and an ADD in certain cases but only after STC. I am mainly focusing on Swing breaks, VP, and Range Bar closes. I use tick and range bars to get a feel for the market, no minute based charts for this methodology. This journal is not about this particular strategy and so with all due respect, I do not want to discuss it any further.

A LITTLE ABOUT THIS JOURNAL:

I recently joined Trade-the-plan.com and I wanted to use this thread as a way to catalog my effort to learn Dan's system and ultimately become a better Swing Trader. I do not want this to become a vendor review thread, as there is already one for that, so please keep any contribution to my journal here about the trading and not the vendor. There are certainly pro's and con's to TTP as with anything else you ever do, eat, or buy in your life. For the time being, I would like to keep my opinion about TTP to myself as I give full effort and necessary time a chance, in order to form conclusive opinions. I am a happy customer thus far.

Until further notice, all the trades and performance reports posted here are (obviously!) in SIM. It should also be mentioned that my particular experience and performance is not necessarily a reflection of the validity of TTP and Dan's method. Rather simply my ability to learn how to swing trade using his tools. In other words, individual results will vary.

If there are other TTP members here, I encourage your contribution and appreciate your help as I learn to Trade-The-Plan.

So, without further a due.... Lets hit some trades...

I saw this old message about trade-the-plan. Recently I visited their website by chance and then watched a few YouTube videos. What I have seen so far has aroused my interest. In the past I have sometimes bought software to trade (or tools to trade better) and I was unfortunately disappointed after purchase in that new software. That is why I am now also very critical when I buy new software / tools. That is why I am very curious about your experiences with their software. Does it add something: in your way of trading, your trades and of course your final results. And are you still using it?
