Nick Leeson (born in 1967) is the rogue trader who famously caused the Barings Bank to collapse. He took massive speculative positions in the Singapore branch and was able to hide the losses for some time. The discovery of the losses resulted in the Barings bank collapsing and being taken over by a competitor. It was one of the first scandals of this type.
