Hello,

Most likely itīs a dumb question, but I couldnīt find anywhere an answer.....
I understand how margin works and that does it change based on the volatility.
According to CME they will provide at least 24 hrs. prior the change a notification in advance.

To my questions:

Is there somehow a way at the CME website to receive the advisory notes just for predefined set of commodities?
When refering to their email subscription list I can just select one sector, assuming CME then will just provide me notifications for that particular sector. How you guys have this setup?

What actually happens to an open position when margin will be increased? Will the position still be handeld with the previous margin amount, or does it affect the open position as well?

thanks a lot for helping on this

I am signed up for the CME advisory notices. You have to get all of the commodities. Usually you get 2 trading days before the new rate takes effect.

Here is where you signup.
CME Group Advisory Emails

All open positions will go to the new margin.
