Nice finish to the day here

Here is what i was think at the lows, was my post in MF thread

"Here is what im thinking at the moment

I could be wrong.....but hey

Yesterday we were bullish in the morning and then the shorts responded

Into the close we just came back into value....

So there was people going home last night with short positions possibly

Today we have held value at yesterday’s highs and at the moment it looks like we have been seeing short covering a "b" shape profile with a poor high

Im thinking if we can hold these highs and this higher value we will most likely see a spike/probe higher into the closing periods

Hey i could be wrong and we could hold inside yesterday range and we could see a sell off exploring yesterday’s range

Just my logical thoughts at the moment"

Posted on MF thread here

Here is the trade and managment

Holing this into the close now as buyers are piling on

Just beautiful....that will do

Hi
How can you tell if a profile is short covering ?
Can that also be market makers accumulation ?
Would they look the same ?
just wondering, as I try to understand more about market profiles.
thanks

shane

I wouldnt play too much attention

I was just trying to think like Jim Dalton and work out what the big money is doing

Seems i just got lucky with that analysis, it seemed logical at the time

We do creat our own lucky though

@shanemcdonald28

For any one i confused as i seemd to confuse my self

Short Covering Rally - usually produces a P shape profile, a short liquidation rally takes place after an extended down move where some profitable Short Sellers, who entered positions higher, decide to take profits by closing all or part of their position. This is opposed to a genuine Bullish rally that is caused mostly by new Long Buyers entering the market and taking control. This type of price action is fractal so its occurrence in the day time frame may be coming to an end whilst it has only just begun on a the monthly timeframe.

Long Liquidation - usually produces a b shape profile, a long liquidation takes place after an extended up move where some Long Buyers, who entered a lower price, decide to take profits by closing all or part of their position. This is opposed to a genuine Bearish fall that is caused by new Short Sellers taking control of the market. This type of price action is fractal so its occurrence in the day time frame may be coming to an end whilst it has only just begun on the monthly timeframe

Thanks ! Good stuff! Where did you get the reference material for the "p" and "b" profiles or is something from your knowledge base?
