Best European commodities exchange for day trading
I know in the US most of the high-liquidity commodities are traded on CME, CBOT and NYMEX, but what are the equivalents in Europe? I know Eurex is one that has a range of highly traded indices and commodities, but are there any others?
I'm specifically after one that would offer high liquidity and opportunity for spread trading.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
You are looking for an exchange that is liquid, yet you are going to trade in a product that off the exchange and depends on the liquidity provider. If the exchange is liquid, it does not mean that it's equivalent on the liquidity provider would do the same for you.
Thanks,
Matt Z

ICE.
Like the CME Group (who own CME, CBOT, NYMEX etc), ICE have bought up many futures exchanges (ICE, NYBOT, IPE, LIFFE as well of course as the NYSE).
As such on ICE Futures Europe you can trade the old IPE products specifically Brent & Gasoil (among others) which are highly liquid contracts.
Moscow is great ... but its impossible ( or extremally risky) to trade there becouse no one offer's them
There is also market for corn and wheat on Euronext Paris - but volatility there is extremally low,its just like trading GE futures with 10 ticks per day...
I apologize, I read by error "spread betting" not "spread trading" as you specified, hence my answer. Sorry.
The guys above gave you the right facts.
