Wheat, Corn, Soybeans and other agriculture Futures is a market that I would like to investigate to specialize in it and see feasibility vs my current focus on equities and treasuries.
The motivation is that it's a real commodity that really has a benefit for our living, the quality of market participants as mainly commercials and hedgers.
I would like to get from the market experts here about the important resources to know about this market to be a specialist. References, forums, websites, trade strategies, seasonalities, outright vs spread vs Options trading, etc.

I consider my colleague, John Thorpe, ex CBOT floor broker to be an expert in the field of grains.

he had the following to share:

A considerable amount goes into trading period and grain trading specifically.

We like a number of resources to get a solid handle on supply, demand and technical issues that may impact market direction. Futures options strategies and be employed as well as calendar futures spreads and out rights among other strategies to invest your ideas.

We utilize quite a few tools for analysis beyond your typical Charting, order entry, news service software to stay up to date with the latest information impacting the commodity markets. The USDA United States Department of Agriculture is an important resource and offers Monthly, impactful World Ag situation Reports

The Hightower report and calendar are useful research and timing tools
https://www.hightowerreport.com/ (Hightower is one of the commentators provided with the QT Market center below)

We are very familiar with a seasonal study service MRCI that has been providing information to traders, hedgers and brokers for over 30 years. https://www.mrci.com/

Please follow this link to a free while you demo the wide-ranging information database about commodities, stock indices, treasuries and financial futures products as well, Audio commentary about the markets, weather, government policy news is updated throughout the day from highly respected industry sources
https://www.cannontrading.com/software/qt-market-center Feel free to take it for a test drive and we would be happy to offer a screen share , webinars, video tutorials to help new adoptees get comfortable with this resource.

Personally, I like utilizing spreads, both intermarket and intra market when it comes to the grain markets. Happy to share more if interested via PM
