@fattails, monpere, MWinfrey, eDanny,@timb , max-td and all other folks who know a heck of a lot more about this than I do.
Thanks In Advance!
I trade on Range bars using Chart Trader to set Stop Limit Orders at the next bar open. I only trade with the trend, so if the bar closes opposite of my order, I simply cancel the order and wait for the next opportunity.
I have written indicators to show me the projected open of the next bar. (See Attached)
The problem is , I am so damn slow and clumsy on a keyboard, ( ... did I mention I was old and decrepit...) a lot of times I can't get the order finished before price passes me by, or I invariably hit a wrong key and fumble the whole order.
I would like to simplify the process by either clicking on a chart button or hitting a hotkey to enter the Stop Limit Order at the next bar projected open price. One button for Buy Stop Limit at the up close price for longs and One Button for Sell Stop Limit at the down close price for shorts. I would prefer Chart Buttons.
I read all the threads on custom buttons and looked at the custom buttons from monpere and have looked at AutoKey program.
1. Can this be done? If so what is the best route to accomplish what I want?
2. I have never coded anything requiring mouse or key actions before and have no clue. But if I had an example to go by I could probably hack my way through it.
3. Could this be done with Chart Trader on a chart, or would it be a strategy that required Chart Trader to be turned off?
