I am returning to study Spanish again (1 month block in the afternoons) as I did before the long Colombian Christmas break.
This time I want to actually learn some Spanish so I am limiting my trading to just a few hours.
I have a bespoke semi-automated bot that works well however serving as "organic emergency override system", according to my co-developer, cooks my brain before the afternoon class as I start trading around 4am. Think Homer managing the nuclear reactor safety system, not proper trading. I was so fried every afternoon in class I could learn nothing. My professor said it was like trying to teach a stroke victim. I need more complete automation and this will require inspiration and a fresh head...
I have decided to take on a mini-challenge and document it in public as blowing the account won't bother me but I may feel embarrassed to make stupid trades!
I first started on the ES with about 10k live (after a lot of study and co-programming) and doubled that in few days. I was probably just a statistically lucky beginner but I escaped draw-down worries very quickly. I have an idea for a new system which would trade scores of very small accounts and I think this will help me see stuff afresh.
Its not hard to scalp a very large account with experience as nothing (maybe a very imprudent Martingale) can hurt, you just have delayed profits.
So.. just getting the ball rolling.
1. This week I'll work out what is a suitably difficult (but not impossible) amount to trade up from.
2. Possibly I shall use NT 8.
3. Pick trading style(s) & market(s)...
