My name is John, and I have finally decided to start a journal seeing the potential to improve myself simply by documenting my journey. I am not new to the advantages of journaling, as my education background from studying Neuroscience at University of Toronto demonstrates the positive profound effects of writing a diary / journal / blog on your neurological structures.
It has been a little over a month since I joined this amazing community and about two months since I stumbled across "day trading".
What initially led me to this world of trading was the sheer potential to make money (which is why we're all here) in such a short time frame compared to what I made in 4 years working at McDonalds (4608 hours * minimum wage ($11/ hr) ). While the hype to become rich overnight was certainly felt initially; I was made aware of the reality very very very quickly from amazing members and market wizards and to whom I forever thank.
While my education background has very little if any similarities with this field of work and currently it stands as an obstacle as the terminology and the language used on a daily basis is vastly different. Which is what the first month has gone towards, understanding the language and all.
I want to document from the very beginning and hope my journal will be somewhat of a guide for those who are also complete beginners. Many journals are created with the assumption the reader has a decent understanding and knowledge of trading.
One thing I want to talk before I submit this first long post, is that I plan to first document my thoughts as a complete beginner from a non-trading/ business background and hopefully in the coming time start posting pictures of charts and trades (sim ofc, and have read / understood about the vast discussion regarding sim vs live).
That's all for the first post, I hope I can come back a year from now and see how awfully wrong I was about everything (what i thought trading was, and what it really is)
