This is mostly for me, but feedback is welcome as long as it is constructive.
Little background, I have been interested in trading for many years, have read books forums etc but have never really ventured or risked anything. The reason I haven't is my family, I have a good corporate job (supply chain consultant) for a huge company and I make a 6 figure salary (barely). I simply haven't been willing to risk my families well being on something that is a desire of mine. Things have changed recently, my wife left me and the kids are about to be out of school so it's time for me to try some things that actually make me happy for once.
I am not quitting my job, I have reached a level where the things I need to do can be done anytime so I can trade in the mornings except when I am out of town on trips. I went the TST route because it's a way to assess myself and have a tiny bit of skin in the game. I have no illusions, I don't expect to just pass and start making mad money, I expect to fail.... many times before I gain enough experience to either pass or put my own capital to work.
Job 1 is to manage risk without making my stops so small that my trades don't have a chance to work, a delicate balance for me.
