Hi, so far I trade CFDs. I have been profitable here for several years. Now I would like to switch from CFDs to futures. I have calculated a financing advantage of several 1000€ per year.

In the meantime I have an account with AMP and I am using the future prices. I would like to gain experience with this new underlying. Therefore I run a demo account with my system on the MYM.

With the Cfds I have a fixed spread, basically they are based on the time of day. With the futures I have extreme spreads at the end of the trade and at the start of the trade.

Crazy ticks - spreads of 50 points, price drop to 27800 in one second (today) and back to 27850 while the Cfds did not make this fluctuation.

This is a catastrophe for existing stop loses.
I also have these ticks in my real account - do you know this situation and is it normal?

I agree, given current market conditions all indeces based futures have almost parabolic price swings and it would be more prudent to trade more docile futures as 'forgiven' said.

As a UK based trader ( fairly new but used to CFD and spread betting) I too, am looking for Futures broker like AMP, for example. But find it confusing wading through the plethora of vendors posting here and others with agenda's that it is difficult to sift the wheat from the chaff. But will try:

I seek a broker willing to take small accounts ( a grand or so) to trade, initially , Micro Futures.
Some allow SEPA funding , which is great; others 'Transferwise' ( not many and not as straightforward as some firms claim, and that's transfer wise talking).
I am viewing AMP , but wonder if their staff are asleep since chat is almost always referring you to leave a message ! And Dorman Trading ( surprisingly offering SEPA - I initially thought they might be dinosaurs but....) Dorling respond quickly.
Question to you experienced Futures traders: Which broker would you use ?
Feel free to add others that use SEPA and allow small accounts for new Futures traders to cut their teeth on.
