Hoping some more experienced traders can enlighten me.
Why do you trade ES vs FESX, Dow vs DAX during European session?
Why do you trade ES vs Nikkei during Asia?
Or any other version of US product vs session index.
I'm assuming that for the most part, these indices are correlated and that the session indices leads the others.
- Wouldn't the influential participants be more active in the session index, and US index is purely driven by market makers and arbitrage algo's?
- Wouldn't the session indices be reacting to their significant levels, not the US indices levels? (Eg. Prev VPOC, VAH/VAL, Close)
- It's probably easier to just chart the sessions RTH of each respective product and reference their levels (Close, High/Low,VPOC etc).
- This probably comes down to trading style, but if you're trading the US indices during European hours, you have to figure out whether to separate Asia vs Europe, or Globex as a whole.
