Hi people, I have a 3k account that I was raising all year from 1k . I trade MNQ , my question is, do you guys follow any rule for the amount of contracts? I think I'm doing well but the truth is that I don't know if I should increase the number of contracts. Is it ok to go up one more contract?

Yeah you should increase 1 contract at a time, but have your stop loss ready and get out when you hit it.

Hi yotinky, if you want to be serious about your risk (risk also means opportunity) management you should be looking at Monte Carlo generators and have a good understanding of Kelly’s criterion. Have a good read of Kelly’s first - it will outline the principles that you need to consider with your sizing.

All this is based on having lots of data to define the specific win rate and RR for individual setups. And this in turn depends on you having setups that are very specifically defined so that your retrospective data has some chance of reflecting prospective results.

Hope helpful.
