How about Think Or Swim. They charge more, but I feel they are the most reliable. I hear to many stories/problems with any broker utilizing Ninja Trader.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
ctmvas, I've been using ThinkorSwim for all three years of my trading "career" so far. They're nice in that they have pretty much everything in all-in-one. They've got pretty much all futures, all stocks, ETF's, currency pairs, pairs, options and forex. With an approved account you can trade anything. They've got ok charts, but lots of features, studies, Thinkscript, scans, thinkback ondemand , history backplay. Lots of alerts of all types, capability to do some automated scripts. Free CNBC and chat rooms with hosts usually on during the session , and also some webinars now and then. Plus their continued work on Prodigio an automated related but separate software that allows one to made automated programs via dragging and dropping graphical objects. Their flagship strength is of course options. Lots of option chains on most anything optionable. Now weekly options included. Best of all is their P/L risk graph where you can see what your options and option spreads look like. You can even analyze unlimited "shadowed" trades on without actually ordering them. And go ahead in time by day to see how the option spread will look like projected into the future just by clicking on a couple of arrow buttons. Stocks are totally tradeable with choice from a specific exchange if you want to do it manual. Symbols can be loaded up fast with big watch lists. As the platform just works with their servers. So not the separate loading of other party feed problem. That said, there are cons that one may get used to, but unacceptable in some cases. You may have heard TD Ameritrade bought out TOS a couple of years ago. They are still working on integrating. There were massive slowdowns back then. It's much better now. Scalping may be bad on TOS DOM. Lots of slippage as reported by others. Sometimes data on chart doesn't look like other platforms' bars. The current spread is not unfiltered straight to the ECN, it's combined and estimated. Commisions and spreads are pricier than others. Maybe too hard to scalp 1 min. Due to sluggishness one may lose a pip or two trying to get into a trade. Some size of grid elements of the DOM and spacing of indicator windows are set and unadjustable. ThinkScript is not C# or C like. An interpreted java-like looking language. slow editing. But you have enough functions to make or modify your own indicators. If you just have a TOS account, and not a TD Ameritrade account using TOS , then Ninjatrader connection isn't supported. The TOS platform is java based, and can lock up with a java code error. Some say the java graphics library used is stuck at an older version unless they rewrite the whole platform.
That's why I'm looking into Ninjatrader on Mirus with Zenfire for the purpose of scalping futures only.
I am truly shocked after reading this thread. I can not believe what I am reading.
AMP prides itself in being the largest NinjaTrader brokerage, over 30+ NinjaTrader specialist here to help!
We offer multiple datafeeds integrated into NinjaTrader such as CQG & Zenfire.
24 hour trade desk and technical support desk.
I want to personally extend myself as the futures.io (formerly BMT)F point of contact. If you are an AMP existing customer or a prospective trader looking for the best NinjaTrader brokerage and you want to get your answers filled, call me directly 312 893 7700
Also, any feedback (good or bad) please email me directly.
The name of your AMP contact will be useful in rewarding good service and correcting faults.
I suggest to you to run as far away as you can from Amp. They screwed me with a $9600 loss on a trade I never placed (not to mention some other small losses), there is no support at all, the people I dealt with knew practically nothing, the quote "experienced fellow" I worked with didn't and couldn't even come up with the symbol for the Russell. As far as working with Dan, lots of promise but alot of hot air. At that time didn't have a direct line to trading and one time I phoned there 5 minutes before the market closed and they didn't answer, got a recording. If that is the kind of service you want, they would definitely fill your need. Don't say that you weren't warned.
Hope this helps
I totally agree with you. stay away from AMP, well if people want to put their risky money in AMP, good luck!!!.
from my experience with AMP, their risk management sucks. I remember their account manager's name is Thien, a bastard
Risk Management sucks? We offer the lowest daytrade margins in the industry - only $400 on the ES for example. Only time risk manager is involved is if you lose 80% of your account balance in 1 day.
Please explain further your concerns about AMP risk managment.

I think your firm would be great if you didn't hold grudges, seems those last forever, burning bridges in this close knit, loosely formed, community is not only a contradiction its expensive on the advertising budget....
