This journal has now reached nearly 7 years of continuous signal giving and journal posts in real time.
Very long for a real and just personal journal - even here on fio.
What had been accomplished:
• 6+ years of positive results (charts in next post) - also during tough waters (eg. 2016)
• Great discussions with the readers - thus more than 400'000 page views - thanks to you!
• Optimization over time which can be seen with even better results. (2018 exceeds over best GFIs1 2017 result)
• Not changing the rules very much over time
• Sticking to the plan - means being very accurate, organized and concentrated to trade according the own rules
• Helping other fio members to open their personal journal and to stick to it over a certain time
Now that you know how the GFIs1 system works - there is no need to prolong to post the trades 3 times/week
What was on the plate since starting the journal 2012?
During the tougher volatility I started another system with most easy rules - one that can be handled
semi-automated Dax trades: The WALZER.
With easy rules that gave many positive points with little effort and time.
What both systems showed:
• Getting positive results - over a long period - with little screen time because of the multi optimization
• Being prepared to know exactly WHEN NOT TO TRADE
• Trading under low personal pressure
My thanks go first to @Big Mike - he gave all of us traders a great platform with millions of shared information.
He also organized some great contests. THAT was my reason to present my own journal with the daily trades.
I enjoyed following your daily trades tremendously - what I really liked was your 'professional trader' attitude and discipline, showing that trading systematically (I don't mean with an algo, just having a 'system') works well for those who stick to their own rules and understanding of their market of choice.
I still remember one of my very early posts where I got into a debate between discretionary Vs. algorithmic trading and one of the replies was from you saying that I would find really good stuff for free here on FIO. Since then I admired your methodical approach to trading.
On one hand it's sad to learn that soon this thread will come to a close, but I appreciate that all good things have a beginning and an end. Plus, this will give me a chance at some point to start from the very beginning of the journal and see its evolution.
thanks a lot for your great work. I had read some of your posts and they were in times I were trading the FDAX or the FDXM an inspiration for me and my trading. That is really good.
I am switching from aktive to passive trading and back some times in the past, because sometimes there are other things, they are having a new priority for me. I am happy, that you are staying here in Big Mikes home for all his "children" all over the world
Best regards and for the new step in your trading life the best wishes from me. We stay in contact.
Thanks @xplorer for the nice words.
Happy to hear that you were attracted by the fio threads giving a tremendous overview of trader's fears & sweats.
I am very happy to be STILL part of the community. Of course!
Our goal must be: attract - Attract - ATTRACT new traders of any stage to open a personal journal.
Short is well spotted ! Chapeau. Your exit is always time based. Never a price target? Today you could consider the 11500 area as support, which would give an above average profit in your trading system.
