Hy Mike, hy everybody. This forum looks like something I've ever been searching for.
Hope to learn from you and to be able to give some little contribute.
Nice to be here.
Hello everyone from the sunshine state. I started day trading in Apr 2015 without any knowledge with 70K. I had what's called beginners luck, because at one tome I had 90K in my portfolio. Then, I started to take more risks and lost most of it. I have about 20K and still hanging to dear life with investments in UGAZ and TVIX. I went to a one day seminar and I talked to an instructor, and he recommended I switch to futures trading. I've been doing some on-line research and I came to this page. Hopefully I'm home. S and P 500 caught my attention, and I want learn everything about how to trade. I'm looking for an online platform because in Scottrade I cannot trade futures. My goal is recover at least half of my loss, and to make $200 daily trading futures.
Although I am a geologist/engineer who has started his career working in Oil Platforms around the world. I have always had a passion for investing and stock picking, which transmuted to swing trading FOREX (one account blew up) and now Futures Indexes and Bonds: (emini ES, US, TY).
I am stuck in the phase 3: Gain a lot, lose a lot = breaking even. I am still a part-timer and my dream is to become constantly profitable and go full time.
The frustrating thing is: I can turn a 10K paper trading account in tradestation, to 15k in a month. Trading the same system, but when I go live I start overtrading and get slapped in the face I am looking to buy some common sense if any of you folks have it to spare...
I'm a fairly new trader. I have about a year and a half under my belt and I've had mixed success. Stocks I was okay with, long options less and so spreads were not good at all.
Part of my problem was lack of dedication (did not put the time into that you need to). Between work and family it can become a strain and during those times I wouldn't stop trading and another problem for me was that I was trying to swing trade with a short term mindset. What I mean there is that I have very little tolerance for risk and often would bail on a position at the wrong time. Day trading the /es has worked far better on paper because I'm more comfortable being able to have a tigher stop.
I have some time off work and have decided to start day trading /es and see how it goes. Friday 3/4/16 was my first day. I intend to start a journal here to track my progress.
Hi there all. I live in the U.S. .Have been paper trading for almost a year now . Not exactly sure what im wanting to get into. I really like the forex considering my schedule and it being 5/24 . I know this is more of a futures forum setup but i was still hoping that i could be apart of this and learn some stuff. I have some questions about TOS/ TDameritrade. Biggest question is have anyone pulled any money out from these guys because all i hear is bad stuff. Thanks guys
