HEY ALL. ABOUT TO START MY FIRST TIME TRADING. I'VE BEEN 'LEARNING' FOR ABOUT TWO YEARS NOW AND AM GOING TO BE DIPPING MY TOE INTO THE MARKETS USING NT7. CAN ANYONE VOUCH "ELITE" MEMBERSHIP FOR ME AND PLEASE ELABORATE ON WHY IT SHOULD BE DONE?
CHEERS,
MTRADES.
I have been posting as a non member since last Summer. Many good readings in here. I am not sure if it is "worth" the money to you but I am thankful to mike and other members for create and maintain such an informative and clean forum. I will be buying Elite membership for that reason.
OK, I'm new here and born again to trading. I did it years ago with success and failures, mostly by the seat of my pants. I'm here to learn and to change my life for the better. I'll do the work, work the plan and make money again. I found this site by reading comments regarding NexGen t3 software. I am scheduled to begin their free week of training prior to buying their $5,000 package(advice would be appreciated). I have no experience with these trading platforms. I bought Tradestation years ago, but was too busy running my company to learn the system, so I traded what looked good. I got some advice and made money trading the Swiss Franc, then got swindled out of all my money by a crooked broker. That ended my currency trading. I traded the E-mini for a while, again, no real charts, just grabbed my heart in my chest and went for it. Lord help me, some how I didn't lose much, but I don't want to do it that way again.
Looking forward to making some friends, getting some tips, and making some money again.
I'm pretty danged new to this. Been doing some reading (Van Tharp's "Trade Your Way To Financial Freedom"; John Carter's "Mastering the Trade"; Michael Sincere's "Understanding Options"; WD Gann's "How to Make Profits Trading in Commodities: A Study of the Commodity Market"; a shelf of others I'm starting in on...), and been doing some daily trading with a TD Ameritrade paper account and ThinkOrSwim. I haven't developed a strategy, yet, but have been experimenting with some technical analysis / trend following, and making sure I'm doing "the math" for every trade (position-sizing based on Tharp's general guidance, multiples of "R", etc.) and keeping it in a trading journal that I update daily.
I'm looking to do this full-time in the coming years, and am willing to do it "right" from the get-go.
Forums like this are a place I hope to learn from others' mistakes, make my own mistakes, share them, and learn from them all.
I'm in central Texas, just west of Austin, and will be looking to get back to the greater Seattle area in the next year or so. I work from home almost full-time as a senior IT executive, and spend as much time as I can trying to learn the trading platform and concepts in-between meetings, before work, and in the evenings...
I came in 2007 to futures trading (Futures Spreads trading) by a former friend. Since then, I have tested several markets and strategies.
Which trading style fits my personality? Definitely trading the D1 timeframe and using price action signals only!
Since nearly 2 years I am only trading FX currencies, actually in the Forex market exclusively. Why?, cause I have more liquid markets to look for (excluding the CHF-pairs I am monitoring 20 pairs per day).
But... I am not sure if I should skip the Forex market and should concentrate on FX FUTURES only...
