I think gomi contribution has been amazing, specially when he has asked nothing in return. I read a post he made lately, and it really bothered me. Not only that, i verified that he is right. I'm asking everyone to go and support gomi on this one....
Its about ninja dropping data again. This has nothing to do with your data feed, this is a known platform issue. Ninja has been known in replying "this is by design" then later fixing up their mistakes quietly on the next release.
The issue he brought forward is a big one, and i've tested and verified it as well....
I don't think that ninja will fix it unless they see how serious it is. This worked when we found out that zenfire wasn't unfiltered, when they reported transactions on TT accounts on a unsercure protocol... the list goes on. When someone created a stink, they finally fixed it. Remember a month ago when zenfire was filtered data, and you had to pay for DTN.....
Im not asking you to just go on there and say he's right or cause problems. Im asking you guys to show them that this isn't by design, and reporting your own findings to them so they won't ignore it. I've attached the indicator to this thread.
As a side note, if you don't help out, and Gomi decides to dump ninja because they no longer fix this issue ( which i've heard from other poeple that he's seriously considering it now), don't expect him to create any more indicators for you guys asking nothing in return.... your gonna have to start paying for a quality platform, which costs $100+ a month.
Take that into consideration.
They can't make money off from people who don't purchase their software..... They have to realize that. I would really rather have 5 more beta versions of ninja that works than a half ass version next week with a bunch of bugs. They made us wait this long, they might as well fix it.
but their business model works, they have 100 times more (non-paid) users than other programs and once these users start trading they buy ninjatrader (to become frustrated anyways in the end looking for a replacement)
Thanks for your support guys. The fact is I'm losing confidence... If after 23 betas they don't have unitary tests that check their tick recorder works OK, what else don't they have unitary tests for ???
Please forgive me, but I'm not a tech guy. How do you know there is tick data missing? Is it visual on your charts and is this just a 7.0v issue or is the same issue on 6.5v?
I think that switch platform is the way, next week i would like to talk with the owner of atrader, that seems is going in the right way the is delta bar with backfilling, and is in developement for further improvement (footprint chart), i think it could be highly customizable, and for you developers could be a good things, cos we can push the developement in the right way. The price was lowered at $105, so realy affordable.
Unfortunately at the moment there's no DOM and the only trade service available is trhu IB.
