NT7 Workspace Startup Tool

NT7 Workspace Startup tool

I built this little tool to help reset my _WorkSpace.xml file.

Example of use:

Upon coding an indicator you forget to dispose of a resource so when pressing F5, NT7 crashes. The problem is NT7 will reload that last workspace....only to crash again....and again. You want to restart with another workspace loaded so you can fix the problem, right?

Well, the old and tedious way is to open your _WorkSpaces.xml file, search for Workspaces and delete the entries, replacing them with one/some default templates. After doing this a hundred times...I decided enough is enough

(I believe you can safe load NT7 to do a similar job, but I like the flexibility of choosing my own workspaces to load.)

When NT7 is closed just run the .exe file and drag and drop which workspaces you want to load up upon the next restart. Instructions are inside the zip file. Do not import into NinjaTrader!

If you wish to see inside the .exe file just use any decompiler like DotPeek.

First a big thanks to vvhg & Xav1029 for some awesome scripts and great ideas which I added to mine.

I completely rearranged the chart trader removing buttons I never use. The ONLY buttons left from the original panel are Buy & Sell Market. Those are the only two which will engage the ATM strategies.

In the custom strategies & entries I added break even +1 and nudge stop to previous low or high, both which will adjust stops accordingly once in a position. The flatten button will get you out of all positions in every chart.

The trail button will engage once pressed if you are in a position and trail via an EMA or SMA. Anything goes wrong the flatten button will get you out and cancel everything. Still doing more testing for bugs.

A nice added feature is the green box below the current profit/loss display, which will tell you the spread from level 2 data and cumulative bid and ask volumes. The box color will change from green to yellow to red if spread gets too large.

This script is still in beta, trade at your own risk. It should show you how easy it is to customize the chart trader to your liking. Sky is the limit in terms of juggling buttons and adding new stuff.

A big thanks to all the contributors.

Unsure where I originally found this script. I modified it to add two buttons to chart trader for entering buy and sell stops.

It will do so 1 tick above or below the bid/ask. It will insert an 8 tick stop loss & target. If you go on indicator settings and put the ticksTarget to 0, it will only add a stop loss to position.

Hope this helps some of you.

PS. Wishing NT8.0 will eventually let us add/modify ATM within an indicator.

NT8 Hull Moving Average Color Change

Hello All,

Like many others, in migrating over to NT 8 many indicators are not available yet. I use the HMA often and prefer when color changes if rising or falling.

Number of seconds before next bar, timer countdown (for MultiCharts) - v1

This function and this indicator count the second before the closure of the bar, and consequently emulate the countdown timer of MultiCharts.
It works with seconds, minutes or hours time-charts.
It could be used, for example, in order to do something 15 seconds before the closure of each 1-minute bar.
CRUCIAL WARNING: Multicharts built-in countdown timer is updated at each second. However, the present function and indicator are updated at each tick (and not at each second). So, if there are not a lot of transactions (a new tick each few seconds and not several ticks per second), there is a risk that the countdown does not work fluidly and reliably.

Function SecondsBeforeNextBar
It returns the remaining seconds before the closure of the bar or -1 in case of problem.
It also returns -1 while the first bar is on-going.
How does it work? When a new bar begins, the function takes note of the hour of the computer. Then, at each ticks, it reads again the current time of the computer, and compare it to the noted time (of the computer) at the beginning of the bar, and to the overall number of seconds per bar.

Indicator DisplaySecondsBeforeNextBar
It emulates MultiCharts built-in countdown timer. See snapshot.
Do not forget to tick Properties / Update on every tick in MultiCharts for this indicator.
