I have used two separate systems together in NT7 for the last few years. Now recently, one of the system's developers migrated completely to NT8, leaving no choice for us to migrate to NT8 as well.
Meanwhile, the other system I use still uses NT7 and it looks like they will not be migrating anytime soon.
Now here comes the problem: The system I use in NT7 is for charting purposes and the system I used for using indicators moved on to NT8.
Logically speaking, I can simply draw the charts in NT8 and use the indicator system with it. But that's not the case here - the charting system I use in NT7 are custom renkos and cannot be 'made' through regular, indoor inbuilt charting options we get in both NT7 and NT8.
I contacted the indicator system, they said they cannot help me 'downgrade' their system from 8 to 7 because of the newer versions of their systems being incompatible to 7.
The only option left for me will be, if I can move the system / charts from 7 to 8, but afaik, it will require developer's help and also for licensing(?). But it's highly unlikely they will help me either because don't wanna migrate at all.
Seems like your only real option is to get someone to reproduce what you have on NT7 to NT8?
One possible solution... in the interim, is to run an instance of both NT7 and NT8, which can be done.
THe problem may be if you only have one datafeed, as I doubt you can power two datafeeds simultaneously with one set of credentials for a data feed.
The other issue, which I couldn't get from your post... is if the tools you have in NT8 DEPEND on the bar type you are using from NT7. If this is the case, then running two instances of NT wouldn't be helpful.
Bar type as to what? I said NT7 is running custom renkos which cannot be represented in NT8 - because those renkos are part of the system in NT7.
To run both NT wouldn't be a problem - one can run on live account where I take trades, while the other can be simply connected to a demo account. (I prefer not to do this forever, but if this works, why not? No pain, No gain!)
