Anyone know of an exisiting way (indicator, custom code,??) or if it possible to open an order in NT8 somewhere other than placing it on a bar? I am looking to open the order by placing it on a moving average. I prefer Blackbird/Bloodhound for orders but the ATM could also work.
Thanks
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Thanks, but that only opens the order if a bar touches or crosses over the moving average. I am looking for a way to immediately open an order when I place the Buy or Sell MKt on the moving average totally independent of where the bar is positioned.
What you're proposing can be done with an addon but not a strategy, and it's complex. I was trying to build something similar at one point (using a MA direction change to exit) , but the juice wasn't worth the squeeze for me.
Perhaps it just needs a 'thinking outside of the box"
I think using a strategy is not the best option.
Try an indicator. (yes it is complex)
I suggest use TickHunter and check out some of the methods there to follow, move, enter.

Sort of. I want the opening price to be the same as the place I click on the moving average even if the bar is multiple ticks above / below the MA and will never touch the MA. I am trying to ignore the bar and only use the MA. Thanks
