NinjaTrader Version 7.0.1000.1 installing and issues
Well, I upgraded to NT 7.0.1000.1 from NT7 b23, installing over yhe beta one.
After i run an indicator developed in NT 7b23 and NT crashed with this error:
So i decided to unistall and reinstall it, and surprise no one custom indicator got compiled, so i tried to import all the custom indis exported from NT 7 b23, and another surprise i got the notorious error:
Damn, I had then to compile manually one to one all the custom indis.
The good news is that now it works.
P.s.On the account performance - trades, there's still only 2 digits after . so its not possible to have the exact points for the instruments with more digits like 6E. I reported this issue time ago, and they told me they would fix it......
Using NT ver 6.5 no problem importing indcators. Yesterday(Dec 2nd) I purchased Kinetick RT version 7.00.23 on two computers I have side by side. Computer #1 no problems on a test compiling of an indicator before importing.
Computer 2 test compile produced errors on ninjatrader.vendor.cs. Couldn't fix it so I uninstalled and downloaded
7.0.1000.1 and still same problem??? Why didn't I get clean install? So I deleted the vendor.cs and copied and paste
the vendor.cs from computer 1. Now vendor.cs can't be opened because a new error states I have a Metadata file error and cannot open vendor.cs b/c it's corrupt and I haven't yet imported an indicator.
thanks for the report ! this will help lots of folks i think !
so you say :
- importing a whole backup from NT7 b23 with all your indicators made problems ?
- or importing an exported zip.package from NT7 b23 with all your indicators in one zip made errors ?
- importing the same stuff zip by zip / indicator by indicator works ?
>> if yes, did you export them one by one in a zip from NT7 b23 ? or did you go with .cs-files + compiling ?
Importing exported .zip-package gives that error, single .zip indicator seems to work, so i premuse that maybe in the package there was some 'wrong' indicators. But the stange thing was that aftere uninstall and re-install all the custom indicators were there in indicator folder and NT does not compile them automatically during the installation.
Anyway I suggest that who upgrade from a previous version not to install it over, but is better follow the previous instuction that NT gave to upgrade the lastet beta realease, i.e. removing ninja assembly, uninstall NT, remove NT from program folder (if remained), remove the files from Documents\NinjaTrader 7\bin\Custom folder (leave there the folders), and then installing the new version.
I had absolutely no issues. I updated on 2 pc's, one WXP and one W7,64bit. All I have on charts is hWVAP and pivots and range indicators made by Fat tails.
LukeGeniol. That's exactly what I did and it was successful. After a few methods from Ninja support failed they finally they gave the same instructions. I thought an uninstall would've removed everything obviously it didn't. Don't know why
with two computers side by side, same OS, one went perfect the other problems. Oh well. I'm back.
