Is there such a thing as being bit by the so-called trading bug?
Symptoms:
1. You find yourself being fixated on trading and the markets more than developing skills needed to stay relevant in the workplace. For example, I work in tech as a systems administrator. I used to love tinkering in my lab learning about new technologies. Not anymore. After my 9-to-5 is over, I could care less about learning new technologies. However, I did enroll in a year-long Python program. But I did so, because Python is a great financial analysis tool.
2. No longer wish to converse about non-Finance topics. When colleagues and acquaintances talk about sports, politics, etc. I have no interest in talking about those things. If you aren't talking about trading, I really don't want to talk to you for an extended period of time.
3. You want to tell everyone you know about trading, but most of them look at you like you're crazy. For example, one of my co-workers was concerned that he has to work indefinitely, because he doesn't have a retirement plan. I suggested that he learn how to trade. He looked at me with a blank stare.
