I have been using Tradingview till now. As I have navigated to day trading I have found it insufficient from a reliability and speed perspective. Been trying many platforms and just can't seem to land on one I am comfortable with. The ease and intuitiveness of TradingView is hard to beat.
Here is what I have tried so far and passed on:
Ninja
Sierra
TradeStation Multicharts
sorta ok with:
Edgeclear
Quantower
I get that this is likely me, but does anyone have any additional recommendations or suggestions?
I am a scalper for the most part, and make 10-20 trades a day.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Hi Scalper.
How long did you trade with Ninjatrader before you gave up? Which version did you work with NT7 or 8? If you tried NT8 what faults might you have had with the platform & their Superdom for placing trades? If I might ask, what computer are you using to scalp EX. processor, how much memory? Are you using a hard wire connection for your modem or a mobile application?
What do you mean by insufficient "Reliability & Speed"? Are any of platforms freezing up when the markets get busy? Lastly, which markets are you trading?
***Are you using "TradingView Desktop" by any chance? I've never used Tradingview before but just a quick glance told me that "Tradingview Desktop" should easily satisfy your complaints. Hang in there. Good Luck!
Hey Harr
worked with NT8 for a few weeks and it was more of ease of charting issue then anything else + look and feel.
Only Scalp NQ and using a hard-wired laptop with a 1G connection.
The broker connection in Tradingview was continuously getting disconnected and re-connecting on a different time frame. You can only connect with a broker on one time frame at a time, so always had to go search which time frame it went to , disconnect, and then reconnect on the right timeframe. Also, very laggy from an order execution standpoint, sometimes it could take real-time for executions to happen. Yes, only desktop
If you like the smooth charts of TradingView but hate the execution, you could just get eg. Jigsaw and drop a DOM next to your TradingView charts and execute though Jigsaw. Or you could do the same with MotiveWave (=EdgeproX) if you don't mind a bit less sophisticated DOM in exchange for useful MBO data.
