Must have something to do with the Pareto principle "80% of your profits come from 20% of the time you spend". The Pareto principle can be applied to optimization efforts. For example, Microsoft noted that by fixing the top 20% of the most reported bugs, 80% of the errors and crashes would be eliminated.

Do you think you could apply the 80-20 rule in trading, ie, trade less or effortlessly while winning more?

That is the simplistic way of saying it yes, but I find I am more profitable when I trade less.

Trading is the perfect "systems" based business that Dan is such a fan of. Because once you have a system, you can scale up. And scaling up is the holy grail of all businesses. Thankfully, in our business, we do not have to add people, infrastructure and further expenses to scale up. We just add contracts and presto, a scaled up systems based business.
