i need to find my center and align my g... lol i dunno about all this.. its really hard for me personally to take advice on trading from someone who doesnt trade.. ive seen situations before about books being written on subjects in trading but the authors themselves dont actually trade...

dont believe anything you hear and only half of what you see

A lot of traders share your distrust for those not actively (or previously) in the game. Having first hand experience at something definitely can provide a more empathetic perspective. However, it's not a deal-breaker for me. Throughout life we find being able to truly be in another's shoes is often not necessary to help or understand that person. Doctors, police, etc don't always have the luxury to experience life from the vantage point shared by the majority of their clients.

Other examples include gaining trading knowledge from sources completely unrelated to trading. I've applied nuggets of wisdom from resources on tennis, business, writing, track, poker, golf, music, and scores of others, all completely uncorrelated to trading. I have no idea how they feel about trading or traders, but I swear their messages are meant for traders.

An even more common example: relationships. Despite the fact that my wife is a woman, she is an expert at keeping her man happy. For the most part, I think she'd say the same for me about her. And I gave up trying to understand women YEARS ago

The bottom line though, is that everyone has to figure out what they need to do their thing. If what you're doing is working for you, run it till the wheels fall off

@madLyfe

I think the term "trading psychology" is a widely accepted misnomer Like semi-boneless chicken

If psychology is the scientific study of the human mind, I think a more appropriate term might be, "How the required process of simply buying and selling shares or contracts, effects the unconscious pain and fear stored in the brain (psychology) of the person in the market doing the buying and selling" but I guess that might take up to much room on the cover of a book. I believe the most important skill is the knowledge of how the brain works and not how the markets work.

I invite you to seriously reconsider the position you've stated above, and I caution you not to, "throw the baby out with the bath water." If you have any trading issues, which I'm sure you don't.

no, its just a matter of opinion.. im not saying this type of help doesnt help people, because im sure it does.. i personally put this in the eating right, personal health, exercise category.. i am biased tho, as i have played serious amounts of poker at many levels and not for entertainment so i might see this differently than others.. mental bottlenecks are not a major leak in my game.

that being said, it takes a lot for me to take advice, specifically about your trading, that isnt a trader.. for me this goes for most aspects of trading, other than the category i put this into that i listed above.. i dont really think there are any 10m, 50m or 100m $ accounts involved here either... if you could have any effect on people with these kinds of accounts, would you be peddling for clients on the internet? only if you meet her requirements? no...

if it makes it any better, i did like listening to Denise Shull on TOS back in the day..
