Hi Guys, there is a page on the site where a girl is spinning, and depending on which way you see her spinning you know which type of trader you are etc. I want to show it to a fellow trader. I cant seem to find it, i have searched the Psychology section but cant find it. Anyone know the link?

I have a problem with that girl, she changes directions all the time. Maybe she has n't yet decided whether to perform clockwise or anti-clockwise. Has anybody seen a spinning ape?

Can you tell some more about this?
She is turning clockwise for me. I am curious how you relate this to trader type.

stare at her center foot shadow for 5-10 seconds, then look at her body and she will change directions. btw, regardless of how it appears, she is turning clockwise, look at the trail she leaves behind.

It reminds me the problem of the bath tub. On the Northern Hemisphere the Coriolis Force causes currents and winds to deviate to the right, so if I let out the water of my bath tub there is a high probability that the vortex turns left.

In Bali, which is close enough to the equator, the Coriolis Force is weak, so there is no clear tendancy for the vortex to turn right or left. It will simply have a direction chosen at random. But once it has started turning left or right, it will continue in this direction.

This is positive feedback, as used by trend followers. The trend continues until the bath tub is empty......

So with the spinning girl, whatever I catch up, the girl turning left or right, I stick to it. And that is the problem that traders face: you always need two alternative scenarios and be capable at any moment to change sides and do the opposite, if your scenario is not validated by price.

Actually there is a third way of perceiving the motion: The girl swings form the left side to the right side back and forth without accomplishing any turn. Our brains just try to complete the pattern in any way that makes sense, so we do not see a swinging but a spinning girl, as our brain adds the missing third dimension to the picture.

Pay attention: You saw the pattern before it was completed - and finally you were lured into a trade based on a pattern that never finalized.

This spinning girl - it is only your bias that makes her turn.

After thinking about a method to control her movement, I can now make her turn in any direction at will. This is how it works:

Just stare at a point slightly below her feet. You will then realize that there is something like a swinging ape on the upper half of your horizon. When she swings to an outside position, you must believe that she will turn left or right, and because she wants to please you she will turn in the direction you assumed.

Once she turns the way you want you may lift your focus back to her. Using this method allows you to zoom in and out of the left and right turns.
