I am curious to get feedback from traders who have read books on and tried NLP. There was another thread a year ago on NLP here, but it got off to a bad start, so I'm hoping we can try again
I liked a lot of what I was reading during the interview, enough to make me do a few Amazon searches on NLP to see if anything stood out to add to my Kindle and begin reading. The problem is, I couldn't find any trading-specific NLP books.
I was wondering if you guys can make recommendations on some NLP books written specifically for trading.
I think from a trading perspective, there is more value to be found in TTP than NLP. Charles F assists Ed Seykota with his TTP workshops and inevitably injects elements of NLP. Both Ed and Charles are very interesting and unusual fellows (and very different from each other).
I have looked everywhere for information on NLP/trading. The only useful item I found was a study called "Strategic Edge in Trading." The study was written by Jules Collingwood. I had contacted Jules and purchase the study directly from her. From what I have read Jules studied with Mr. NLP himself, and fully understand both NLP and trading. The study was conducted using full time (real) traders. It is not an easy read, but very useful if you fully understand and appreciate NLP.
If you are looking for a quick fix where you do a couple of exercises and you are Soros, then do not buy the study. I think it is the best (and might be the only real ) paper concerning Trading/NLP out there.

Basicly there are things out there that are NOT doable with reading a book or watching a DVD.
NLP or Hypnotherapy are some of those things.
those techniques run / work in combination with looking a bit deeper into yourself and working on your mindsets etc.
to get really something out of it you need to work together with external people like therapists - its not makable with readung books only.
if you did some basic work together with a therapist you are able to go on working by yourself, maybe with help / lesson from the therapist or with a workbook or so.
but only with reading a book or so, your mind will play with you, outsmart you - you do not get deeper then a special level - because your mind is not willing to change itself - its really a bad guy in this subjects
if you dont have been teached / exerciced this for a while yet , you are not able to work with these techniques alone by yourself with useful results.
NLP/Hypno are good to train/retrain the mind. you can eliminate bad habits.
not yet, but soon. the key is in your self believe. I do nlp/self hypnosis after
a good study time, and it works.
here for max look at this.
Causality is the relationship between an event (the cause) and a second event (the effect), where the second event is a consequence of the first.
Looks interesting that book. I couldn't find any English version through Google, so I guess this is German only? Is it a difficult book to read for a non-German speaker? (I only have some basic skills in German reading ).
